InkBridge Networks - A new name for Network RADIUS

Industry partnerships
and collaborations

InkBridge Networks works with leading organisations to advance network authentication protocols and practices. Our work spans standards development, interoperability testing, and knowledge sharing.

Standards and industry organisations

Alan DeKok, InkBridge Networks CEO, has authored numerous RADIUS protocol standards in the IETF. See the full list below.

Current work:

  • Official liaison between the Wireless Broadband Alliance and IETF
  • Active participation in RADEXT, EMU, and UTA working groups
  • Multiple ongoing drafts in RADEXT and EMU
  • Co-chair of UTA
  • Member of the IETF Security Directorate, where all new standards are reviewed for security issues
  • Updating the RADIUS Protocol to officially deprecate RADIUS/UDP, along with many other insecure practices
  • Protocol-Error draft specification, TEAPv1, andTEAPv2 standards authorship

Alan DeKok serves as the official liaison between the IETF and WBA, facilitating collaboration on standards that benefit the wireless industry.
InkBridge Networks contributes to WBA working groups on RADIUS Accounting, Roaming, and OpenRoaming™ development.
InkBridge Networks contributes to Wi-Fi Alliance standards development and interoperability testing.
Our work spans WPA2 and WPA3 Enterprise implementation, Passpoint protocol development, and standards compliance across Wi-Fi specifications.

Educational and research networks

eduroam

FreeRADIUS serves as the authentication foundation for eduroam, the global research and education network serving millions of students and staff worldwide.

InkBridge Networks provides technical consultation on network architecture, scaling, and deployment including work with Klaas Wierenga (GÉANT CTO and eduroam founder).

CANARIE

InkBridge Networks collaborates with CANARIE, Canada's national research and education network, on eduroam deployment and authentication infrastructure.

This partnership includes joint webinars, technical guidance on RADIUS implementations, and support for Canadian institutions joining the eduroam federation.

GÉANT

We work with GÉANT, Europe's leading research and education network, on authentication infrastructure and standards development.

This includes collaboration with GÉANT leadership on protocol development, support for pan-European research network infrastructure, and joint planning for industry events.

Technology partners

A co-sponsor of the RADIUS Conference, Radiator Software collaborates with us on work such as Protocol-Error specification implementation, RADIUS proxy fabric improvements, and interoperability testing among major RADIUS vendors.
InkBridge Networks collaborates with radsecproxy on RadSec implementation development, standards compliance, and interoperability.

Industry collaboration initiatives

RADIUS Conference

InkBridge Networks co-organises the only global RADIUS conference, bringing together authentication experts from ISPs, enterprises, educational institutions, and standards bodies.

The conference has featured in-person workshops and virtual events with speakers from Wireless Broadband Alliance, eduroam, GÉANT, Forescout, Boldyn Networks, and other leading organisations.
